How a skill’s status is worked out

from the problems you checked
Not started
No problem checked yet on any helper tab that teaches it.
Practiced
At least one problem checked, but fewer than 2 of your last 5 right first time.
Getting it
At least 2 of your last 5 problems right first time.
Mastered
At least 5 problems tried, and 4 or 5 of your last 5 right first time.

Right first time means your first Check on that problem was right, with no hint. A problem counts once, however many times you check it, and it counts for every standard its helper tab is matched to, so one problem can move a few skills at once.

Problems from practice sets and the problem of the day count too. Tutor me and flash cards don’t. Because only your last 5 count, a skill can slip back if the newest ones go wrong, and come back with a few right in a row.

The match between the helpers and the standards is unofficial.

Private by design. This map is worked out in your browser from the practice kept on this device. Nothing is sent anywhere, and there’s no account.
