The Dose Calculator

Medication math the way nursing school teaches it, one step at a time and with the reason for each: doses by weight, tablets and liquids (D/H × Q), IV rates in mL/hr and drops a minute, when an infusion ends, concentrations, percent and ratio strengths, dilutions and reconstitution, insulin and heparin units, conversions and body surface area. Plain unit changes are on the Measuring Tape, rates and proportions on the Ratio Table.

For learning only — not for patient care. This page is for studying and for checking nursing-school math. With a real patient, always follow the order, the drug’s label and your facility’s policies, and double-check every dose with a pharmacist or a second nurse. The page never says what dose a drug should be: every number comes from the problem you type.
